My Other Tongue is a virtual language school that offers live, interactive online courses from certified language teachers. We offer Spanish and ESL (English as a Second Language) courses for all ages and levels. Our students learn to speak, read, write and listen, empowering them to communicate with confidence and clarity.
Lisa Shaw

Our Leadership
Lisa Shaw is an accomplished language professional with over 16 years of experience in teaching middle and high school students. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, Lisa has served as a Foreign Language Department Chair in Cobb County schools and is a certified Spanish/English interpreter for parents. Mrs. Shaw has a wealth of experience instructing both adults and children. She is certified in teaching Spanish K-12, dual language immersion, ESOL, educational leadership, and gifted education.
At the collegiate level, Lisa was a Director of Instruction for the University of North Georgia’s Cultural Understanding and Language Program in Ukraine, teaching English to students. In addition, she’s served as a mentor teacher for the Kennesaw State University’s TELL program.
Out of her passion for language and love of learning, she founded My Other Tongue in 2020. Mrs. Shaw is a highly sought-after speaker and cultural influencer for language learning.
