Prep I and Prep II
The Spanish Prep Level 1 experience is about helping students who have no previous Spanish language experience get set up for success as they enter a new Spanish level 1 course offered at the local school level. In this course, students will get a head start in learning basic greetings and expressions as well as learning about high-frequency verbs and vocabulary that can be incorporated into their Spanish language conversations and written work.
Expected outcomes for students enrolled in this course are:
Basic understanding of the language learning process and beginning Spanish phrases
Good grades and performance on future Spanish class projects, Spanish language and culture tests
Overall successful course completion of their Spanish 1 language course.
Technique of Delivery:
Vocabulary will be learned through vocabulary games
Greetings and expressions will be learned through group tasks, dialogue and direct instruction.
The Spanish Prep Level 2 experience is about helping students who have had some previous experience in a Spanish language course but need extra support and want to plan for successful completion in their Spanish 2 language course. In this course, students will be supported in accomplishing the language goals for a Spanish level 2 course as they learn about describing their daily routines, making travel plans, attending medical appointments and talking about community and community resources. Students enrolled in this course will get a head-start in understanding what they will be learning in their Spanish level 2 course and get set-up to understand Spanish on a deeper level so they can earn good grades and have good performance on Spanish class projects, Spanish language and culture tests and/or overall successful course completion of their Spanish 2 language course.
