This 12-Week Self- Paced Beginner/Intermediate Spanish Course is about helping students who have had some previous experience in a Spanish language course but want to advance in learning Spanish to be able to communicate in a wider variety of situational contexts. In this course, students will continue to learn and practice essential Spanish language expressions, but they will also learn about describing their daily routines, making travel plans, attending medical appointments, and talking about special events. A Spanish Language Communication Lab is incorporated in this course.

Expected outcomes for students enrolled in this course are:

  1. Abillity to use high-frequency verbs and expressions to express daily routine as well as describe personal relationships.

  2. Understanding of basic questions (Who What, When, Where, Why) related to daily routine and personal relatiohships.

  3. Abillity to use high-frequency verbs and expressions to express travel plans and make medical appointments.

  4. Understanding of basic questions (Who What, When, Where, Why) related to travel plans and medical appointments.

  5. Overall successful course completion of the Spanish language course at the A2/B1 CEFL level of language proficiency.

Technique of Delivery:

Vocabulary will be learned through using a variety of text-types such as songs, poems, video as well as games.

High-frequency verbs and expressions will be learned through group tasks, dialogue and direct instruction.
